Quick Tip: Preparing for Interview

Write out print out a list of interview questions. Cut them up into strips and place them in a container like a shoe box.  Place it next to your bed.  Each night pick out one question.  Read it and answer it aloud as if you were in front of the judges.  Repeat this process every night until your pageant to gain the confidence you need to win!

NAM Texas royalty pose after a pageant Whether you have a local, state, or national title the "unspoken rules" of wearing your crown and sash are the same no matter which pageant system you represent. And if you hold more than one title, these rules are just as important.  Here are my tips on proper crown and sash wear: When and how to wear them. 1. Community Service - Wear your sash or no sash at all. No crown.  Since the focus should be on the people or cause you're serving, a crown is not necessary. It could even take attention away from the cause. Sometimes it's good to bring the sash along with you for photo opportunities before or after the event but leave it off while you're actually serving. You could wear a jacket or t-shirt with your title on it as an alternative. It's always  a good idea to check with the event organizer on what they deem appropriate. But the ease of the competition can sometimes cause a contestant to slide down a slope of performing just....eh...while the top scorers really stand out and win. Here are strategies casual wear modeling winners use. Routine . You've got approximately 30 seconds on stage, which doesn't seem like a lot, but you can pack a powerful routine in that amount of time. Don't waste it by simply walking back and forth from one end of the stage to the other. Insert pauses, turns, shifts, twirls, facials, and action into the walk. Create an actual routine, just like you would a dance. Practice it over and over to uptempo music.
